Parents play a central role in their children’s emotional and overall development. To provide the most developmentally sound environment, professionals need to communicate the fine points of research and clinical studies effectively. This article details many strategies for reaching parents; perhaps the most important lessons are to be culturally sensitive, be positive, be relevant, and speak clearly.
